Derek Dubois is a filmmaker and writer who currently resides in Cumberland, RI. He is a graduate of Rhode Island College with a master's degree in Film & Media Studies and a graduate from Bryant University with an M.B.A. in Global Supply Chain.
Rhode Island College is where Derek completed his undergraduate work in Film Studies, Psychology, and Creative Writing and, as of Spring 2010, where he was hired as an adjunct professor in the Film Studies department. His primary courses have included: Introduction to Formal Film Analysis, Writing for Film, and a two-semester workshop in Screenwriting.

Dubois has recently published academic essays in the peer-reviewed film journals Senses of Cinema and Short Film Studies. Additionally he has presented papers; most recently on Hitchcock at a 1950's Media Symposium held at Texas Christian University in 2014.
Dubois' films and screenplays have been accepted to numerous international film festivals and have been the recipients of several awards. Most recently Dubois received FIRST PRIZE for his script Miss Diagnosis at the 2016 Rhode Island International Film Festival.
